Tips on Optimizing your website
Website optimization is a science in itself that is quite mind boggling. However, there are certain things that you can do to help get your website popular and easy to find on the world wide web. Here are some tips:
- Get a URL (i.e. your domain name or web address - for example: "http://www.webdesigns-by-acusailor.com") that has key words in it that pertain to your business. Make sure we discuss this before you get your domain name!
- Put some effort into your keyword and keyphrase list that you will provide for me, as these words are specific to your industry, and will help search engines find you.
- The better the content in your website, the higher it will be ranked! So, if you are inclined to do so, write some articles in your field of expertise. Give your knowledge away! Not only will this help your website ranking, but it will also impress your customers or clients and show them that you know what you are talking about!
- Once your site is up and running, tell everyone you know about your website, and ask them to click on it to check it out! The more people that click on it, the quicker it will be found by search engines.
- Add links of other non-competing businesses to your website that relate to your field. For example, you might want to add businesses in your local community that you refer to. Let them know that you have added their link to your site, and ask them in a nice way if they wouldn't mind doing the same for you!
- Make sure that you place your website's address on your email signature. Your email provider should have a function you can select to add your name, URL and telephone number on every email you send out. That will make it easy for others to click on your website right from your emails!
- Don't be shy, and tell all your friends about your website! Word of mouth is, after all, still the best advertising!
